National investment platform Parmenion has just launched a new “Advise Her” campaign designed to focus advisers on advice specifically aimed at women. Parmenion estimates that women in the UK are “responsible” for £36 billion of uninvested wealth and their campaign is designed to try to engage more women to take an interest in investments and financial planning. Parmenion’s estimates are backed by other studies which estimate that women are likely to own 60% of the nations wealth by 2025 as a result of living longer. The “Advise Her” campaign is aimed at advice firms (largely owned and run by male advisers) encouraging them to think about the way they work and create new ways of engaging women.
This is encouraging and fits in with the FCA’s new focus on diversity and inclusion within financial services firms.
Clearly, here at Christina Clegg Financial Planning Services we don’t need to engage in the “Advise Her” campaign and think about how best to engage with women, because we are women!
